Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has been Phi Mu’s national philanthropic partner since 1986. “To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand.” The first line of Phi Mu’s Creed has been a call to serve others since it was written more than 100 years ago. From our earliest days of supporting a health mobile that delivered health care to women and children in rural areas to supporting toy carts for children in hospitals to our current partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Phi Mu has long been committed to lending a helping hand to those in need.
We are proud to be the only sorority to partner with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and have an alliance with the National Women’s History Museum. We were also the first sorority to establish a National Philanthropy Day more than 20 years ago. Lending a helping hand is at the heart of who we are as Phi Mus.
Gamma Sigma's Philanthropy
Philanthropy is at the heart of everything we do as members of Phi Mu Gamma Sigma at Georgia College & State University. Our chapter is proud to support our national philanthropy, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, an organization dedicated to providing critical care, treatments, and support to children and families in need. Through fundraising, service, and advocacy, we strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local children in our community.Our local impact is closely tied to hospitals within the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals system, where funds raised by our chapter help ensure that every child receives the care they deserve—regardless of their family’s ability to pay. Phi Mu chapters nationwide collectively contribute significant support to CMN Hospitals through events, donations, and awareness efforts, helping fund life-saving treatments and medical equipment.One of our signature philanthropy events is Jammin’ for Julia, a high-energy, campus-wide event that brings students together for a great cause. This annual event has become a beloved tradition within our chapter, combining music, teamwork, and friendly competition to raise funds and awareness for children’s healthcare. Events like these not only support our philanthropy financially but also strengthen our connection with the campus and local community.In addition to our signature events, our members actively participate in service initiatives, fundraising campaigns, and awareness programs throughout the year. Whether volunteering time, organizing donation drives, or partnering with other organizations on campus, Phi Mu Gamma Sigma members are committed to serving with compassion and purpose.Our dedication to philanthropy is reflected not only in the funds we raise, but in the lives we impact.
